Over the course of building a career in sales, I learned that success requires a commitment to operating with a high degree of integrity, focusing on client needs, and working toward the best possible solution for all parties. Also, one’s success is not measured in the short term by commissions or transactions, but rather over the long-term with sustainable results. In other words, if you genuinely care about what you do, the people you are doing it with, and how you do it, good things will follow.

From the time I first put my “feet on the street” as a young salesperson to my role as executive vice-president of sales, this philosophy was, and still is, my top priority.

Originally from Wilson, NC, I have lived throughout North Carolina during my professional life. In 1993, I began my early career in print journalism at The Daily Times in Wilson as a reporter and columnist. From there, I took a position with the News-Topic in Lenoir, NC as business editor, where I met my wife, Sheila, and we had our first child, Tristan. In 1998, my career path took us to Jacksonville, NC where I served as city editor at The Daily News until 2000. With the future of newspapers in doubt at that time, I made the difficult decision to change professions entirely and began pursuing a career in sales management. Later that year, I accepted a position with Aramark Corporation and we moved to Clayton, NC where I subsequently served in various management roles with companies such as Solo Cup Corporation, Dart Container, and Darnel Inc. In 2010, we welcomed our second child, Lillie, and recently moved to Morehead City from Clayton. Following a series of life events in 2019, I realized I had lost touch with the very reason I held those high-level positions and that was helping people. I decided to draw on the knowledge, skills, and experiences I had acquired in the corporate world and apply them in a more “down-to-earth” manner by helping people navigate the very personal process of buying and/or selling real estate.

My connections to Carteret County and the Crystal Coast span a lifetime. From summers spent in Morehead and Atlantic Beach to a second home in Emerald Isle to our own spot now back in Morehead, my love for this place, its people, and its culture is strong. I want to share that connection with others, whether they are current residents, second homeowners, or families relocating to the area to promote all that Carteret has to offer!
