Festival
Join us for a memorable concert by Curtis on Tour presented by the American Music Festival at 7:00 PM on March 8, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1604 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC.
GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist and Curtis faculty Jason Vieaux, renowned violist and Curtis President Roberto Diaz, and emerging artists from Curtis will present a thrilling program for guitar and strings. Jason Vieauz, “among the elite of today’s classical guitarists” (Gramophone), is described by NPR as “perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation.” In appearances from New York’s Lincoln Center to Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and the Seoul Arts Center, Jason Vieaux has cemented his reputation as an artist of brilliance and uncompromised mastery. A violist of international reputation, Roberto Diaz, a teacher of viola at Curtis and former principal viola of the Philadelphia Orchestra, has already had a significant impact on American musical life. His record of Jennifer Higdon’s Viola Concerto won the GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Classical Composition in 2018. He plays the ex-Primrose Amati viola.
