1-2-3-4 Break Time is getting closer to receiving their state child care license. The facility opened earlier this fall as a drop-off care center, which does not require licensing. However, the need for more fully licensed child care centers in our county is so large, the state approached Skinner and asked if she would turn the new care center into a full-day care operation.
Over the past few weeks, owner Katrina Skinner and lead teacher Memory Shelton have overseen facility improvements and undergone training to meet licensing requirements, including ServSafe Food Handler Certification, Basic School Age Care (BSAC) and Playground Safety, both from the Southwestern Child Development Commission, and Supporting Children and Families Experiencing Homelessness training from the National Center for Parent, Family and Community Engagement.
