Dr. Natasha Gownaris and her Marine Ecology students from Gettysburg College are heading to Radio Island for a beach cleanup on Sunday, April 6, from 1:00–3:00 PM. This student-focused initiative will provide hands-on experience in environmental stewardship while connecting classroom learning to real-world impacts.
Jill Sullivan, a marine mammal stranding expert, will join us to discuss the effects of plastics on marine life, aligning with the students’ study of Thicker Than Water.
While this event is primarily for students, interested volunteers are welcome to drop in and help—no RSVP needed!
Let’s work together to keep our coastlines clean!
