Shannon Adams is the Vice President of Information Technology at Big Rock Sports, LLC.  Big Rock Sports has its roots in Carteret County and was formerly known as Henry’s Tackle.  The company has seven distribution centers and is the largest wholesale distributor of sporting goods in North America. Shannon is also the Morehead City, NC facility site lead for the company.  The Morehead City office houses most of the company’s administrative functions.

Shannon is a life-time resident of Carteret County and graduate of West Carteret High School, Cape Fear Community College, and Appalachian State University.  He serves on various boards and committees across North Carolina. 

He is passionate about preserving the rich history of the Carteret County area and is the author of several local history books.  He has created websites to document the history of sports in Carteret County as well as digitize and make public most all middle and high school yearbooks ever produced in the area.  His family was previously involved with the EF Foundation for Foreign Study program and hosted three high school exchange students.  His hobbies include running, archiving local history, traveling with his family, and promoting his alma mater, Appalachian State University.  

I am the Owner/Head Stylist of Beauty Bar located in The Hair Factory Salon Suites in Morehead City, NC. I have owned Beauty Bar by Kristine Andrews for 5 years, however I have been licensed and servicing guests in Morehead City for over 20 years. 

My favorite services are Blonding and Brides. The need for more wedding business in my salon, led me to develop Carolina Wedding Fair and had me venture out of the salon a bit. I have formed a new passion with helping small businesses/vendors meet new prospective clients through the platform of wedding vendor events. Stay tuned for more as my business partner and I will be launching a new project that will help small businesses connect with brides even easier.

At home, I have an amazing husband, 2 boys and 2 dogs. We enjoy attending and watching Carolina Hurricanes games in the winter and boating and beach time in the summer. We love our neighborhood and hanging with our friends!
