On June 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Hope Mission of Coastal Carolina will kick off its   2024 “Peers on the Beach” campaign at the circle in Atlantic Beach. This summer, from June 28 through the Labor Day weekend beach goers along a five mile stretch of Atlantic Beach will have immediate access to some of North Carolina’s most trusted people in the recovery field—Certified Peer Support Specialists. Hope Mission’s peer support specialists will be out on the beach wearing teal shirts every Friday and Saturday, engaging with beach goers providing peer support  and information to people in need of substance use and mental health recovery services in North Carolina.... Cherry Point Wraps Air Show Ops

Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point opened its gates to a substantial crowd of more than 120,000 attendees for 2024 MCAS Cherry Point Air Show weekend, seeing the largest number of guests during its Saturday show.
This event showcased the exceptional prowess of the nation’s military aircraft and the incredible capabilities of modern aviation. About 80,000 attended Saturday, while Sunday saw a smaller attendance of around 40,000 guests on Mother’s Day.
Reports confirmed there was overwhelming interest and support from the community, but traffic delays prevented many from reaching the venue Saturday. In response to community feedback, air show officials adjusted operations to reduce travel delays for Sunday’s show.... Read more
