Located on Bogue Sound, Carteret Community College was founded in 1963 and is one of 58 institutions comprising the North Carolina Community College System. Carteret CC is accredited and offers more than 90 associate’s degrees, diplomas, and certificates that prepare students for university transfer or immediate entrance into the workforce. At Carteret CC, we also offer short-term, non-degree programs in healthcare, public safety, transportation, skilled trades, and more. Non-degree programs include customized training, small business support, and basic skills courses such as high school equivalency preparation and English as a Second Language. The Carteret CC Foundation supports the college and raises funds to ensure all members of our community have the opportunity to achieve their goals. Through partnerships and the generosity of donors, the Foundation provides scholarships, training equipment and capital purchases, student support, and professional development for faculty and staff.

The purpose of the Carteret County Public School Foundation is to promote excellence in education by supporting students, educators, schools and educational programs.The Carteret County Public School Foundation (CCPSF) is dedicated to fostering educational excellence within Carteret County School System by securing financial support from the community and corporate partners.

Founded in 2000, our mission has been to provide and sustain district-wide opportunities, funding teacher training, emergency assistance, and classroom programs not covered by state funds. Through the generosity of our donors, CCPSF has received and invested over $2.42 (as of 2024) million into innovative programs in our schools, in addition to assistance programs for our students and employees.

Annually, we proudly offer 4-year tuition scholarships to deserving seniors from each of our three High Schools, ensuring a future generation of teachers for Carteret County through our Big Rock Teaching Fellows Program.

The Carteret County Public School System is a unified network of 18 public school sites committed to engaging, educating, and empowering our nearly 8000 students who are the future of our beautiful community that exists along 85 miles of beautiful coastal scenery and friendly towns. From Cedar Island to Cedar Point, CCPS is committed to ensuring safety in our schools, providing 21st century skills through STEM programs and digital learning while continuing to build and develop our students' foundation in critical literacy and life skills. We also believe in exposing our students early and often to career and college discovery and value our relationships with our generous business partners, industry leaders, and stakeholders. 



Coastal Carolina Riverwatch (CCRW) is driven by the voices of the coast and working through community collaboration to protect the quality of water and quality of life in coastal North Carolina. Our work is funded by your donations and accomplished by an efficient and effective staff, dedicated board of directors, top-of-their-field scientific and research advisors, local government and industry community stakeholders, pro-bono attorney groups, captains and pilots, university partners, local sustainable businesses, and local advocates.

Gramercy is a private Christian school educating students from grades K4-12. Gramercy has been serving the residents of Craven, Carteret, and Onslow counties for 44 years and accepts the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship.
