The Friends work with the Museum in Beaufort by underwriting new projects, purchasing equipment, administering grants, funding educational and public awareness programs, acquiring land and facilities needed for expansion, and operating the Port Of Call Museum Store.

The Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum, Inc. is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation forging a public/private partnership between supporters of our state’s rich maritime heritage and related natural history and the State of North Carolina.
